Program Information:

The Kohl’s Wild Theater is a participatory theater that uses drama, puppetry, games and songs to bring conservation messages to children and families.  Located in the children’s area of the zoo, performances will focus on conservation and the importance of caring for the animals and the environment.

Performances will take place seven days a week at the Milwaukee County Zoo from May 28th-September 5th, 2011.  Rehearsals will be from May 16th – May 27th.   Four actors will work in a day from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.  Approximately 10 actors will be cast to cover the 7 day schedule (expected commitment is 3-4 days per week).  Actors will perform approximately 4 fifteen-minute shows per day at the main stage.  Actors will also spend time at specific exhibits interacting with Zoo visitors.  These interactions will be loosely scripted, but will rely on improvisational skills.  Payment will be based on an hourly rate of $11/hour.  Higher rates are available for actors hired as “show captain.”
