Summer Theater Conservatory

Acting Intensive – American Classics

July 11 – July 23, 2011

Immerse yourself in professional actor training this summer at Milwaukee Repertory Theater!  Learn from members of the Resident Acting Company, Laura Gordon and Gerard Neugent, as they guide you through the craft of acting. Mornings will consist of training in character development, voice and movement, text analysis, improvisation and auditioning. Afternoons will be spent applying acting techniques to scenes and monologues, using the rich material from classic American playwrights. Participants will showcase their work in a final performance, which will be seen by Milwaukee theater professionals, in our Stiemke Studio.

This opportunity is open to high school students through adults. Participants will hone their skills together in an exciting theatrical journey. Teenagers, college students and adults alike will learn new perspectives on the art of theater, learning methods to approach acting challenges in the classroom, in auditions and on the stage!

Auditions are required for acceptance and will be scheduled upon receipt of the application.

Registration is $500. Scholarships are available. $50 non-refundable deposit due upon acceptance into the program.

Deadline to apply is May 16th. Application materials are available at www.milwaukeerep.com/education/summer.htm.
