Carte Blanche Studios Theatre, located at 1024 S 5th Street in Milwaukee, is holding auditions for its first annual summer New Plays Festival on Sunday July 17th from 2:30pm to 5:30pm, and Monday July 18 from 6pm to 9pm. Eight brand new plays, written by local playwrights, will be showcased together in a festival format. The show dates for the festival will be Thurs – Sun, August 11 – 14. Each play will have 3 performances. The …plays range from 10 minutes to 40 minutes long, so the time commitment is minimal. Rehearsals will be scheduled by individual directors, based on actor’s availability and will begin as soon as they are cast. Actors are allowed to perform in more than one show, if their availability permits. You may either prepare a short monologue or read from a side that will be provided for you at the audition.

Auditions are held by appointment only. Please send an email to newplaysfest@gmail.com, to schedule an audition.

Copies of the scripts are available for perusal in our Cafe

Also, stay tuned for auditions for the first two shows of Carte Blanche’s 2011/2012 season, “Mein Kampf” a black farce, and “Reefer Madness! The Musical”. Auditions will be at the end of July. Notice will be posted soon.
