Cooperative Performance Milwaukee is offering Zanshin training for actors every Monday evening 6:30-9:30pm at Wherehouse 818 S Water Street, Milwaukee, WI 53204 (entrance is at the back of the bldg near the river, free parking) $10 per class to participate and FREE to watch.

WHAT IS THE TRAINING?

The training is based on Tadashi  Suzuki’s Actor Training, but also includes exercises developed by Steve Pearson, Robyn Hunt, and Shogo Ohta. Tadashi Suzuki originated a form of physical actor training based on traditional Samurai warrior conditioning. This Zen and martial arts-influenced training re-wires the mind and body to respond to stress via expansion into a position of focused power rather than contraction into a position of faking and forcing.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Any clothes you would wear to work out in will be fine. The training is traditionally done in tabi, which are Japanese socks. However, many folks choose to work in a pair of durable athletic socks.
