Windfall Theatre is looking for TWO MALE actors, who are 18 years old or can come off as 18, for their upcoming production of the Pulitzer prize nominated Sons of the Prophet by Stephen Karam.


Briefly, Sons of the Prophet is an edgy comedy about human suffering, love, strength and hope that tells the story of Joseph Douaihy, son of Lebanese immigrants distantly related to Kahlil Gibran, as he copes with diagnosing his own mysterious illness while caring for his younger brother and aging uncle while negotiating a new romance with Timothy a reporter covering the circumstances of Joseph’s father’s death. It’s an intricate yet fluid ensemble piece that runs 90 minutes with no intermission.


Character Description:


Charles: Joseph’s younger brother, 18 years old, a high-school student, Charles is gay and open about it. He is a geography buff. Charles is emotional and, as siblings usually do, he tends to bicker with Joseph.


Vin: African-American, 18 years old, star of the high-school football team.



Rehearsals begin January 10 2016


Performance Dates:

The show runs February 19 – March 5, 2016 (Performance Dates: 2/19, 2/20, 2/26, 2/27, 2/29, 3/3, 3/4, 3/5) with rehearsals beginning on January 10. All performances are at 8:00 pm.


Rehearsals would be weeknights 6:30 – 9:30, Saturdays mid-morning to early afternoon depending on the cast’s availability and Sundays from 1pm – 5pm.  There will be one day off to be selected depending on cast’s availability. The show is divided into 7 scenes and that may be broken up for staggered calls and the complete cast will not be called to each rehearsal period.



We will be having auditions on Saturday, November 21 from 10:30am – 1pm at Windfall’s performance space at Village Church, 130 E. Juneau Avenue.  Auditions will consist of readings from the script.
