The Milwaukee Entertainment Group will be holding Auditions for it’s 2017 Season on Saturday November 5th, 2016 at the Brumder Mansion from 11am-4pm. Descriptions of our scheduled plays are posted below. Based on this audition we may make offers for currently unscheduled plays throughout our season.

In the email please include a headshot and resume and the times you are available during the audition period.

Please prepare a dark comedic monologue and be ready for possible cold readings selected from one of the scripts. Please bring a headshot and resume to your audition and have conflicts available to share.

Callbacks, if needed, will be held on November 12th.

This special evening of murder mystery entertainment will be directed by Tom Marks and hosted by The Brumder Mansion along with Milwaukee Public Television.

“Flanagan’s Wake” March 2017

Flanagan’s Wake is a hilarious interactive Irish wake that transports you to Graplin, County Sligo, Ireland, where the audience joins the villagers in the telling of tales, singing of songs, and mourning the passing of one of your own: Flanagan.

“ART” by Yasmina Reza April/May 2017

This dark comedy raises questions about art and friendship and concerns the varying opinions of long-time friends, Serge, Marc, and Yvan. One of the men, indulging his penchant for modern art, buys a large, expensive, completely white painting. The reactions of his friends to his purchase creates tension in their friendship. For one friend, Serge’s purchase of the painting is a cruel joke.

“Deathtrap” A Thriller in Two Acts, by Ira Levin June 2017

Sidney Bruhl, a once-successful writer of Broadway thrillers, is struggling to overcome a string of failed shows and a shortage of funds. When he receives a script from a student in the seminar he has been teaching at a nearby college — a thriller which Sidney instantly recognizes as a possible Broadway hit — he devises, with his wife’s help, a plan to collaborate with the student. The younger man quickly accepts Sidney’s offer. Thereafter suspense mounts steadily as the story twists and turns with devilish cunning.

“The Secret of Sherlock Holmes” by Jeremy Paul September 2017

This two-man play is a tribute to the remarkable friendship of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. It explores the friendship from their meeting in A Study in Scarlet to Holmes’s faked death in “The Final Problem”, and deals with the friendship strained by Holmes’s deception, as well as the titular secret.
