Auditions and Designer Interviews

ACTORS         Saturday, May 5          2:00-5:00 p.m.

DESIGNERS  Sunday, April 29          11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD AT:  Arts@Large–908 South 5th Street

We are interested in current high school and college students, as well as early career actors and designers.  Performers of color, especially immigrant and refugee artists of any age, are especially encouraged. We hope casting will be representative of the full diversity of Milwaukee.  These are paid positions.

THE PIECE:  Jacque Troy of Arts@Large, who is an experienced Milwaukee theatre artist, will be writing an original piece based on her work with immigrant and refugee students in Milwaukee Public Schools.  The show will be performed at Paliafito Park at 3rd and Walker.

WHEN:  Final scheduling will be somewhat dependent on the artists who are hired for this project.  However, the plan is to begin rehearsals in mid-July and mount the show for two weekends (Thursday-Saturday) in mid-August.

WHAT TO PREPARE:

  • Actors—Find a published poem that you believe reveals something about you. Memorize it, so it can be performed as a monologue.  There will be a very short interview about your selection afterward. Please also bring a headshot and resume if you have one.  Otherwise, bring a photo of yourself.  There will be an audition form to fill out on site.
  • Designers and technicians—Please bring a resume and portfolio to share during a brief interview.

To secure an audition or interview slot, please contact Jacque Troy via email

Please include in your email: Position Desired, Full Name, Age, Current School if Applicable—Actors should indicate preferred audition date
