AEA Actors. Forward Theater Company in Madison will hold its annual Equity auditions on Tuesday, September 6th from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Madison Opera Center, 335 W. Mifflin, in Madison, WI. Auditions are for Forward Theater Company’s 2017–18 season (TBD). Please bring two contrasting contemporary monologues of no more than two minutes each, and provide one copy of your headshot and resume. Complete information on these auditions and a link to reserve an audition slot will be at the AEA website (actorsequity.org) within the next week.

Forward Theater Company in Madison will hold general auditions for Non-Equity, adult actors (ages 16 and up) from 10:00am – 5:30pm on Saturday, June 25th. Actors will be considered for roles in the 2016 Someone’s Gotta Do It Monologue Festival (performances are September 22-24), and for various roles in our upcoming seasons. Please come prepared with a memorized, contemporary (post-1950), 2-minute monologue from any published play, and one copy of your headshot and resume. The auditions will be held at The Stream Theatre Arts Center on the Edgewood College campus in Madison, WI. Forward Theater Company is looking for an experienced Technical Director for its 2016-2017 season. FTC is a professional theater company that produces three shows annually in the Playhouse Theater of the Overture Center.
The Technical Director is responsible for the planning, execution and completion of all scenic elements of Forward Theater’s productions. This includes:

-Collaborating and communicating with the Scenic Designer, Director and Production Stage Manager to fulfill the scenic requirements of each production
-Attending all production meetings
-Creating the scenic budget, shop drawings/plans (in conjunction with Scenic Designer), materials list and other advance work to prepare for scenic build
-Purchasing of all materials
-Hiring of additional carpenters and load-in/load-out crew
-Serving as lead carpenter and supervising additional carpenters in scenic build
-Coordinating all scenic painting needs with the Scenic Charge Artist
-Tracking scenic budget throughout build and maintaining communication with Production Stage Manager
-Supervising the transportation and load-in of the set into the theater
-Attending all technical rehearsals and addressing all notes coming from technical rehearsals
-Supervising load-out and transportation of set back to scene shop
-Other duties as needed

The ideal candidate will have educational background in Theater and at least 2 years of professional theater experience as Technical Director with skills in planning, engineering and theatrical construction and fabrication (including carpentry and welding). He/she must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Salary is paid as honorarium per show. Madison, WI — Forward Theater Company will hold general auditions for adult actors (ages 16 and up) from 6:00pm – 9:00pm on Monday, October 7th and Tuesday, October 8th. Actors will be considered for roles in its New Play Development Reading Series (performances tentatively scheduled for March 1 and May 3, 2014) and for various roles in the 2014–15 season (TBD). The auditions will be held at the Rotunda Studio (in the Overture Center for the Arts.) Callbacks for FTC shows will be scheduled later this year.

To reserve a three-minute audition slot, please visit the Forward Theater website (forwardtheater.com) on or after Thursday, September 26th and follow the link to an electronic scheduling form. While we will do our best to accommodate all interested actors, audition times will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and will only be arranged through the website.

For auditioners:

• Please come prepared with a memorized, contemporary (post-1950), 2-minute monologue from any published play.

• Bring two copies of your headshot and theatrical resume.

• Please arrive 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled audition time.

To prepare for these auditions, Forward Theater will offer free, one-on-one coaching sessions in the weeks prior to the auditions, for actors wishing to polish their audition presentations. Space is limited and sessions will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
