PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION:

Set in Paris in 1971, THE LIZARD KING is a two act play by Jay Jeff Jones, inspired by The Lost Paris Tapes.   Bloated, boozy, sick and cynical, DOORS frontman Jim Morrison is still a ferociously dangerous poet.   Compelled to spill his white-hot passions into a tape recorder, words pour out of him as if dictated by a higher force; his intense, troubled relationship with Pam Courson, along with recollections of his friend and romantic rival Tom Baker are blended into the fabulous and chaotic world of gods and monsters that propelled Jim to his spectacular stardom.  Production features extensive puppetry and special effects.

Male and Female Actor needed for the premiere of a new play

SQUARE: A STAGE PORNOGRAPHY is a unique and bawdy comedy, set in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, that explores the crisis single people experience in their late twenties. Roles are difficult and challenging; this is the premiere production of a new play and both actors are onstage for 90 minutes. Actors familiar with Meisner Method are a big plus.

Nudity and simulated sexual situations are required. The following roles are available:

For THOMAS PANKRATZ, needed is a white male actor, physically fit with muscular build, able to pass as 27 years old. Thomas is a former high school football player and BMOC with the attitude that goes with it.

For JOHDELL LOVELIEN, needed is a white female actor, also able to pass as 27 years old. Thomas’ erstwhile classmate and childhood acquaintance, Johdell is a proud and accomplished engineer, not your typical nerd girl.

Auditions are Saturday January 15 and Sunday, January 16, 2010 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Gay Arts Center, 703 South 2nd Street in Milwaukee. Readings will be from the script.

Rehearsals will begin March 16. Performance dates are from April 13 through April 23, 2010 at the Gay Arts Center in Milwaukee.

Pay is $200.00

Auditions are open call, but actors who wish to set an appointment can mail their pictures and resumes to: Mkenact@aol.com, along with the 10 minute block of time they wish to reserve. Actors who reserve time will be e-mailed selections of the script for audition.
