Milwaukee Chamber Theatre (MCT) seeks a part-time marketing intern to assist with day-to-day tasks and promote the Company’s productions and special events. This position reports to Milwaukee Chamber Theatre’s marketing director.

 

Position is 10-12 hours per week, largely within regular business hours.

 

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

 

  • Assist in writing, editing, and designing of MCT print materials including, but not limited to: advertisements and other promotional materials, e-newsletters, MCT Friends and special event communications, press releases, and audience guides.
  • Work with the marketing director on social media campaigns, participate in writing and posting to MCT blog, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
  • Assist managing director and marketing director in planning and marketing special events for MCT subscribers and donors.
  • Researching and generating sales leads
  • Database and archive maintenance
  • Assisting with mailings and general office duties as assigned

 

 

Candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and writing skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in MS Office. Experience with databases, email marketing, In Design/Adobe Creative Suite and social media preferred.

 

Internships are unpaid but can be used for school credit. Interns will also be given complimentary tickets to our productions and invitations to attend other MCT special events. Dates and hours are flexible.

DUTIES:

  • Attend all rehearsals as arranged and all performances as required by MCT’s Production Manager.
  • Work one-on-one with the Stage Manager (Brandy Kline, AEA) to facilitate rehearsals.
  • Resetting the rehearsal hall, assisting with scene shifts, preparing run sheets and being on book during the rehearsal period.
  • Coordinate with the Stage Manager, Deck Chief and Wardrobe Supervisor to finalize run sheets and setup the backstage and greenroom areas in the theatre during Tech Week.
  • Be in attendance for every performance to run the show on deck with the Deck Chief.
  • Assist the Deck Chief and Stage Manager in minimal strike duties immediately following the final performance.

 

COMPENSATION:

  • This position is paid a fee of $100 per week OR class credit can be arranged.
  • Participants gain experience working within the structure of an Equity SPT production, working with and observing an Equity Stage Manager.
  • Participants can collect Equity Membership Candidate points.
  • Participants gain contacts with professional actors, directors and designers in the local theatre community and beyond.

Milwaukee Chamber Theatre is hiring the position of Deck Chief for the 2016-2017 YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL Showcase, which will be produced in the Studio Theatre at the Broadway Theatre Center.  Load-in, tech and performances will take place May 1-May 7, 2017.

 

Current students, recent graduates and young professionals are encouraged to apply.

  • Assisting the stage manager during tech rehearsals by coordinating the backstage operations of three original one act scripts, performed in repertory in a black box theatre.
  • Safely planning and executing scene shifts using actors as crew; managing run sheets.
  • Assisting with strike immediately following the final performance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated leader with a positive disposition and problem-solving abilities.
  • Applicant should have backstage experience running shows on crew; preferably having been in charge of a deck as either Deck Chief or ASM for at least one show in the past.
  • Reference from a professor, stage manager, production manager or equivalent.

 

This position pays $250.00 and is a professional credit.

MCT seeks 25 non-Equity actors for our biennial Young Playwrights Festival Showcase and, new this year, Honorable Mention Readings to be held May 4-7, 2017 at the Broadway Theatre Center, Milwaukee. We seek actors of any heritage, sexual orientation, and gender identification. Wardrobe Supervisor

Milwaukee Chamber Theatre is hiring the position of Wardrobe Supervisor for three shows in our 2016-2017 Season:

 

  • Lobby Hero                  November 19 – December 18, 2016
  • The Few                       February 18 – March19, 2017
  • Great Expectations     April 8 – April 30, 2017

 

Duties shall include, but are not limited to: preparing the dressing rooms and stage for all wardrobe needs; assisting the designer with load-in, costume repairs and rigging during tech; maintaining run sheets; presetting, tracking and maintaining costumes; coordinating and executing quickchanges; laundry, drycleaning, and maintaining wardrobe supplies for the duration of each production; cleaning and organizing all costumes, supplies, and dressing rooms at strike.

Marketing Director

 

Job Description:

 

Milwaukee Chamber Theatre (MCT) is seeking a marketing professional to promote the Company, its five-show mainstage season, education programs, play reading series and special events.

 

A candidate who has demonstrated strong marketing, graphic design and customer service skills, as well as excellent organizational, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills will thrive in this role.  Ability to manage multiple tasks independently, and as part of a professional and volunteer team, is necessary. Experience in the arts is a plus. The position reports to, and is supported by, the Managing Director.

 

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage season ticket campaign and coordinate operations with Broadway Theatre Center Box Office staff.
  • Design and develop copy for print and online media.
  • Maintain and oversee website, social media, and email communication.
  • Manage database and design and develop direct mail and email marketing campaigns.
  • Coordinate group sales campaigns; book, reserve and invoice group sales.
  • Work with board committees.
  • Supervise interns and volunteers.
  • Plan and market special events for MCT subscribers and donors, in concert with Managing Director and Administrative Coordinator.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in a related field with previous marketing and design experience.  Must demonstrate ability to multi-task, problem solve and work independently.  Computer literate – Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, database/box office software. Ideal candidate will exhibit creativity, enthusiasm, and appreciation of theatrical performance. Some nights and weekends required. Applicant must have a reliable means of transportation and lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.  .

The Broadway Theatre Center (BTC) Box Office is looking for individuals to join our team. We are the first point of contact most patrons have with the BTC, and employees must provide the highest quality of customer service to not only our patrons, but to all theatre companies in the building. We provide ticketing and basic customer service to three theatre companies; Skylight Music Theatre, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre and Renaissance Theatreworks. Must have evening and weekend availability.   Pay is minimum wage plus two tickets to every performance at the BTC. Please visit us at 158 N. Broadway to fill out an application. We are here between noon and 6, Monday through Saturday, and 2 hours before every performance.
