THE GOD OF HELL, by Sam Shepard

directed by jaimelyn gray

Emma and Frank live a quiet life with their cows in the heart of Wisconsin. They don’t expect anything exciting to come from taking in their friend Haynes, but when secret agent Welch comes looking for Haynes, this slice of American heartland is turned into a place of paranoia and unspeakable horror. A rarely staged dark comedy, Sam Shepard’s play written in response to our government’s reaction to 9/11 is now more timely than ever.

This new form of the internet allows anyone to indulge in their deepest longings, but some realms dive into the most unsavory sexual desires. Detective Morris interrogates members of a realm known as The Hideaway, digging into the emotional consequences of allowing even the imagination to entertain the darkest desires.
